Expand Your Global Reach with Section 321

Are you looking to enter the U.S. market without the heavy burden of import duties? Section 321 offers an incredible opportunity for international businesses to expand their reach in the U.S. By allowing duty-free entry of shipments valued at $800 or less, this regulation simplifies your access to one of the largest consumer markets in the world.

How Section 321 Can Help You:

  • Duty-Free Imports: Avoid costly import duties on eligible shipments, making your products more competitive in the U.S. market.
  • Streamlined Shipping: Reduce paperwork and speed up customs clearance, getting your products to customers faster.
  • Market Expansion: Open up new opportunities in the U.S. without the financial strain of high import costs.

At Speed Commerce, we help businesses like yours take full advantage of Section 321 to seamlessly enter and thrive in the U.S. market. Let’s work together to expand your global reach and grow your business.

Section 321 vs. Section 301

Section 321 is sometimes confused with Section 301, but they serve very different purposes. Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 allows the U.S. to impose trade sanctions on foreign countries that violate trade agreements or engage in practices deemed harmful to U.S. commerce. This has led to the imposition of additional tariffs on goods originating from certain countries, most notably China, under what is commonly referred to as “Section 301 China tariffs.”

For eCommerce businesses, the good news is that Section 321 can override these tariffs, as long as the items being shipped meet the de minimis value of $800 or less. This means that even if a product would normally be subject to Section 301 tariffs, it can still enter the U.S. duty-free under Section 321, provided it meets the criteria.

How Speed Commerce Can Help With Section 321 & Customs Requirements

Saving on logistics costs is just as important for your eCommerce business as gaining revenue. Understanding international shipping and trade laws, such as Section 321, can help you cut back on duties and fees and, ultimately, save you money.

Speed Commerce offers Section 321 from our warehouses in Canada. You can maximize revenue and keep shipping costs down by importing your inventory into our Section 321-compliant warehouses, where we’ll ship orders directly to your customers in the U.S.

How Fulfillment Can Make or Break Your eCommerce Business

The fulfillment process is a critical aspect of any eCommerce business’s operations as it holds the power to significantly impact customer satisfaction and brand reputation. In today’s fast-paced eCommerce landscape, customers have come to expect quick, reliable, and transparent order fulfillment. A seamless fulfillment experience can elevate your shop, leading to repeat purchases, positive reviews, and enhanced customer loyalty. Conversely, mishandled orders or delays can lead to customer dissatisfaction, negative reviews, and a high rate of returns.

Partnering with a proficient 3PL logistics provider like Speed Commerce can be a game-changer for eCommerce stores, especially those dealing with high volumes of orders. Such a partnership ensures the efficiency and reliability of the fulfillment process and provides scalability to handle growth and peak seasons without compromising service quality. Effective fulfillment strategies extend beyond mere shipping. They encompass inventory management, order accuracy, and timely customer communication, all of which contribute to a positive shopping experience.

Frequently Asked Questions About Section 321 Fulfillment

Q: Are there any restrictions when using Section 321 fulfillment?

A: There are a few restrictions when using Section 321. Shipments must be valued at less than or equal to $800. Businesses can only send one shipment to one address per day. Multiple shipments per day are not allowed and may be subject to a fine. Also, Section 321 does not apply to goods that are: 1) subject to Anti-Dumping Duty, 2) subject to Countervailing Duty, 3) in need of special required inspection, and 4) regulated by Participating Government Agencies, like the Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Q: Will Section 321 shipments have slower transit times?

A: No, quite the contrary. When you manufacture overseas, using Section 321 services will allow your goods to reach U.S. customers much faster. Once goods are shipped out of our facility, we’ll use our extensive network of shipping carriers and services to optimize your delivery times.

Q: Does Section 321 fulfillment increase my shipping costs?

A: No, it’s the exact opposite. Your eCommerce business can reduce or even eliminate inventory import fees for shipped products that are a part of Section 321 CBP-compliant shipments.
